My Experience:
I had a wonderful time at Lake Tahoe. From the sun to four inches of beautiful white snow, Lake
Tahoe is definitely a year round destination.
I
went to my first salmon fest, and watching the salmon swim up stream was amazing, of course if would have been even better
if the bears had decided to come out ot eat. I stayed at the Park Tahoe Inn, perfect location for walking to the shops,
casinos, and restaurants. A little walk to the Lake but not far enough to worry about. The rooms are large and comfortable
with great beds.
I ate twice at a local favorite, the Red Hut
Cafe. There are three Red Hut's, all family owned an operated since 1959 (that's when the first RH opened.) The
food is plentiful and good, and the service is just as good. I highly recommend it, only open for breakfast and lunch.
Oktoberfest by the Lake was fun, lots of people and with a real nice
local feel. I did go to Harrah's once to gamble, but it was so beautiful outside, that is where I wanted to be, until
the four inches of snow came, then I stayed bundled up in my warm room.
For
golfers, Edgewood is the place to play! Located along the Lake and scattered with tall pine trees, it's hard to concentrate,
but you better because the course is challenging and interesting. Celebrities love it there so keep you eyes open,
and the clubhouse is not to be missed whether you are golfing or not.
I
can't wait for my next trip to Lake Tahoe when I'll ride the Gondola, take a cruise on the Lake, play golf and perhaps drive
the 2 1/2 hours around the entire Lake.
Until next time, it's
and easy drive up 395....get going!
