Congratulations
to Janet Duran Winner of an overnight stay for two at the Creek Runner's Lodge.
My Experience:
For me, Big Bear Lake was a magical winter wonderland. I found the town to be quaint and charming, plus walkable.
I'm a park the car type of person then walk around town and explore.
I stayed at the Creek Runner's
Lodge, 374 Georgia Street. The Lodge is only a minute from main street one way and a minute from the lake the other
way. The Lodge offers 26 individual cabins, of various sizes. Perfect for a family get-a-away, or a romantic weekend.
I stayed in cabin 11, it was fantastic and ROOMY! The owner Dorthy DeConnick is a wonderful person and a real hoot.
It's fun just to sit and chat with her..........Call now to make your reservations for the end of winter and upcoming
summer... 800.595.0755.
I dined at several places but a must is the Evergreen International, 40771 Lakeview Drive.
Huell Howser ranked this restaurant in his list of all-time favorites and I can see why. The restaurant has some interesting
history attached to it that owner Dr. Jerry Lemke will be happy to share with you. I say upscale if that's what
you are looking for or casual, it's up to you. This is a seafood and steak restaurant, and everything I tried was
delicious......Don't miss it! 909.878.5588.
Big Bear Lake is an easy one hour and twenty minute drive
from the Coachella Valley, and is at an altitude of 7,000 feet. The roads are easy to navigate and cleared very quickly
after a snowfall. The town has plenty of shops and dining. The town is hosts to families and singles. And
single ladies, the men out number the women, so get-on-up there.
Check Big Bear's web site often for all sorts
of great things going on......Will I go back? YES!
